OAK GROVE, KY (February 3, 2023)— “It is with great pleasure and excitement that we announce country music artist Chris Janson as our headlining act for this year’s 16th annual Spring into Summer Salutes Ft. Campbell,” said Traci Cunningham, Executive Director of Oak Grove Tourism & Convention Commission. Janson will take the stage at the Viceroy Performing Arts Center in Oak Grove on Saturday, May 27, 2023 at 7 PM.
Chris Janson, proud member of the Grand Ole Opry and multi-platinum songwriter and artist, is part of country’s new breed. In touch with the lighter side of life with self-penned No. 1s “Fix A Drink,” “Good Vibes,” and the triple platinum “Buy Me A Boat,” as well as the more thoughtful truths of “Done,” “Things You Can’t Live Without,” and the CMA Song of the Year nominee and ACM Video of the Year “Drunk Girl.” Both “Boat” and “Girl” were named to the Nashville Songwriters Association International’s prestigious “Songs I Wish I Wish I’d Written” list, which is why artists like Tim McGraw (“Truck Yeah,” “How I’ll Always Be”), Justin Moore (“Off The Beaten Path”), Cody Johnson (“Let’s Build A Fire”), and the iconic Hank Williams Jr. (“God Fearin’ Man,” “Those Days Are Gone”) reach for Janson’s songs for their own projects. Beyond his artistry are his live shows, where all that heart-on-the-four-wheeler songwriting meets the fans where they come to rock. Rolling Stone proclaimed him “a live legacy in the making,” and Janson is a frequent presence at the nation’s biggest country festivals, tours, and unexpected sit-ins. For a man known for his outdoors lifestyle and collaborations with Bass Pro Shops and Cabela’s, making music from his own life has established the harmonica-forward multi-instrumentalist the go-to guy for young country for the last decade.
When questioned what makes Chris Janson the perfect fit for this year’s festival, Traci Cunningham said, “Ultimately it boils down to his high energy performances. He’s a great entertainer and is a major supporter for our Military. We always look for someone to give our men and women the best show possible. We are more than confident that Mr. Janson will come through for us with flying colors and give our community an excellent show, and we couldn’t be more excited.”
Saturday will feature a 6-man parachute jump show before the concert. Afterwards, there will be a spectacular firework show that will close out Saturday night’s festival. The 16th Annual Spring into Summer Festival will take place May 27-28, 2023. Activities will run on Saturday May 27th from 12pm-9pm and Sunday May 28th from 12pm-6pm. Both days of the festival will include many new and exciting activities. All the stage shows are packed full of adventure from start to finish. The popular bubble zone attraction is also making its way back to the festival. The bubble zone is an area perfect for adults and kids alike with pools filled with bubble solution and bubble wands of all shapes and sizes. This is a wonderful family activity. As always, there will be free carnival rides for all to enjoy with no tickets or wristbands required. We will be thanking our active-duty military with the opportunity to enter for a free basket full of exciting prizes. Past baskets have included everything from gift cards, to TVs, to furniture.
The concert, along with all other activities at the Spring into Summer Salutes Fort Campbell Festival is free and open to the public, and it all takes place on the grounds of the War Memorial Walking Trail Park: 101 Walter Garrett Lane, Oak Grove, KY, 42262.
