Oak Grove Community Center’s Annual Trunk-or-Treat

October 29 @ 6:00 pm - 9:00 pm

Trunk or treat provides a safe place for the children of the Oak Grove community to meet other kids as well as rack up on sweet-tooth goodies.

For the those who may not know, trunk or treating is where participants bring their vehicles to a central location, which is usually a parking lot and in this case: will be the Oak Grove Community Center parking lot. The drivers decorate their vehicles and pass out candy for the holiday of Halloween. Some families go all out, creating elaborate scenes out of their trunks. Kids walk from vehicle to vehicle, collecting candy the same way they would during a normal trick-or-treating outing going door to door. This approach is a lot safer being that the area is surrounded with eyes and ears as well as parental control. Another perk of Trunk of Treating is that it cuts down on the time being out at night, the distance to receive candy is much shorter than walking door to door in a neighborhood.

If you are an adult who would like to participant giving out candy this year, stop by the community center. Volunteers will need to be at the center an hour before at 5 p.m. to set up. If you would also like to donate candy, which is greatly appreciated, feel free to stop by the center to drop off donations. Trunk or treating makes for a great time for adults to socialize. It also allows adults to get creative embracing the Halloween spirit. For the volunteers who will be giving out candy, you will have the option to set up outside using the trunk of your vehicle or inside with a station assigned to you.
