3rd Annual Oak Grove Tourism Kicks off Salute Week
Christian County Salutes Fort Campbell is a week long celebration of friendship between the Hopkinsville-Oak Grove-Christian County and Fort Campbell communities, held annually in Christian County. All events are free to the military and their families as a thank you for the many sacrifices they make year round to ensure liberty and freedom for the rest of us. Join the fun with the kick off in Oak Grove, Ky on Saturday, September 11, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. at the War Memorial Walking Trail, 101 Walter Garrett Lane. Salute Week ends on Friday, September, 17, 2010 at the Freedom Friday Chili Cook Off.
2nd Annual Butterfly Festival

Oak Grove Tourism presents its 2nd Annual Butterfly Festival on Saturday, September 18, 2010 from 12 pm to 5 pm. Children will be able to make environmental arts and crafts for free. There will be an educational and interactive stage show.... yes they are back... Flumpa the Tree Frog and Wendy the Singing Scientist. We have added the Insect Road Show Exhibit from the University of Kentucky.
Come and interact with live butterflies in their habitat in our Butterfly House or let the Master Gardeners take you on a tour of our brand new Butterfly Garden. All of this along with pony rides, petting zoo and bubble zone! The event will conclude with our live butterfly release of more than 400 butterflies at 5:00 pm.
Bring the kids or your class or scout troop to the War Memorial Walking Trail, 101 Walter Garrett Lane in Oak Grove, KY, for a day filled with education and fun.
